Why compress images?
Large images can make pages feel slow on mobile networks. Smaller files improve loading speed and help social uploads complete faster. Keep a high-resolution original separately, then export an optimized copy for publishing.
What quality should I choose?
For photographs, start around 70 to 82 percent as WebP. Images with fine text or interface screenshots may need a higher quality setting. PNG is useful for transparency but often produces a larger file.
